We went to Denmark in April and were delighted to see a thriving business in wind power. Windmills are everywhere. They didn't spoil the landscape at all. We thought they were gorgeous: graceful, hopeful, 'green' and powerful.

If we don't embrace wind power and other renewable energy sources FAST, there will be no landscape to enjoy. Nimbys need to get real and think about the future a bit.

Of course wind turbines are there to make money. Energy companies are not charities, they're in business, like the rest of us. If every farm had one or two turbines we'd soon generate enough 'green' electricity to power our society. Farmers are happy (as they earn a little cash out of the rent), we get clean, locally produced electricity and stop pumping out greenhouse gases.

Bring 'em on, I say. But of course we must be careful to protect sensitive habitats, etc.
