Lochhill & Slewcairn ... where the heck are they? I have just got a book called "The Megalithic Monuments of Western Europe", a set of works by various authorities. The one section, "Chambered Tombs and Non-Megalithic Barrows in Britain" (written by Lionel Masters) has a picture of Slewcairn (KRK 12). The map indicates that they are about 40 miles east of Cairnholy and to the south of The Twelve Apostles of Hollywood on the bit of coastline that runs north-south.

Both sites have a cairn and mortuary house. Slewcairn looks as if it's been restored and is rather nice.

This is such a good looking one I was surprised that it's not on TMA
