I stayed in a guest house by the bay in Bantry, I found it perfect. Cheap, and lots of pubs, but also quiet. You are right in the heart of circles country, (I did about 17 in four days). Some hints. .

Don't rely on 'directions' in books. You can waste valuable time getting lost. Get the ordinance survey maps and find 'em for yourself.

Not all circles on OS maps exist, and many are ruined. . so make a 'must see' list and get OS maps for those sites.

If you are driving, your average speed will be 45-5o-mph on Cork roads.
