Burl calls this site "one of the minor wonders of prehistoric Wales". Frances Llynch describes it as "arguably the most beautiful Bronze Age monument in Britain".

It is a wonderful site and its beauty is enhanced by the fact that it's not the easiest of places to get to but, once you get within range, you see this "crown" (or, if you prefer, the rays of the sun) sitting on a hill set against the sky. It is placed at the edge of the hill in a way which maximises this effect.

It seems to be reasonably intact and unrestored. Llynch talks about some central robbing and adds "The army, on manoeuvres before the Second World War, pulled out stones on the east side but, miraculously, the striking silhouette remained intact"

Go see it.
