A few pagans will be around doing their thing,
I will be at a Pagan Feast on saturday night at the New Inn in Monkton (sorry all the places are gone now)
Heres a copy of an email from the NT

From: "Mimmack, Robert"
> Thank you for your lengthy reply to our previous email. I am
afraid there are no simple answers to many of your questions. There
has never been "agreement" about parking - indeed no one has ever
asked us if it is OK, or until recently even told us in advance on
which nights parking was expected. People have simply turned up and
expected to be allowed to park, not just for the night of a
particular festival but often for several nights before and after.
The National Trust has to take account of local opinion expressed by
individual local residents and by the Parish Council as well as the
views of Pagans.

> Unfortunately whilst many pagan visitors have behaved extremely
well - clearing up litter, reporting vandalism etc - there has been
an increase recently in anti social behaviour (fouling in hedges and
in the Cove, dogs roaming loose, fires - all experienced at the last
Autumn Equinox or Sawain). As a result we have had to take active
steps to enforce Trust Byelaws. At the forthcoming Winter Solstice
we shall be unlocking the car park in good time for witnessing the
sunrise but overnight parking will not be allowed.

> You mention the Planning regulations. I can only act on the legal
advice I receive which is that prosecution is an option open to the
local authority, Kennet District Council. It is not for the National
Trust to ignore that advice and rely for its defence on the validity
or otherwise of the Human Rights legislation in this context.
> Other Pagans have already approached Avebury Parish Council
recently and have been left in no doubt of their views. You may wish
to follow this up but I should be surprised if the response is any
different
> I should add that the access available at Avebury is a great deal
more than that at Stonehenge and I sincerely hope that we shall be
able to keep it that way. However we are not in a position to
continue to be liable for the Health and Safety and other legal
implications that authorised overnight parking on Trust land would bring.
