Interesting. Is there much else that you can compare it to? What about stone used in local walls and buildings?

I think a lot of the stone crosses stood independently of churches. The junction that the Longstone stands on doesn't look very different to the one that Croes Faen stands on (also highly ordinary).

I had a squiz at the OS, and it looks relatively flat. There's no sign of this stone on the Megalithic Portal. Perhaps there's someone out there with some ideas on it.
