Joint Lecture with the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland
We are delighted to invite you to the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland and the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland’s inaugural joint lecture, The Neolithic Axe Quarries at the Eagle’s Nest, Lambay and North Roe, Shetland: A Comparative Perspective, taking place in Dublin and online via Zoom at 7.30pm on Thursday 17 April 2025.

The talk delivered by Emeritus Professor Gabriel Cooney FSA MRIA FSAScot will focus on his current research, namely the post-excavation work of the excavation of a Neolithic axe quarry site on Lambay off the coast of County Dublin, with comparison to the axe quarry complex at North Roe, Shetland where Professor Cooney led an excavation and survey project. This event is free for Fellows and €5 for non-Fellows; tickets go live on Monday 7 April.
