Hi, I'm an infrequent visitor and poster so my apologies if this should be common knowledge...

..how old, roughly, does a site have to be before it can be considered for inclusion on the, ahem, site?

The reason I'm asking is that yesterday I went to have a look at the 'Danish Barrow Cemetery' near Ingleby, Derbyshire (52.49.48N,1.29.51W) and took a few photies. I had a quick look online and this concludes that, "During the second half of the 9th century a band of Vikings chose the site in Heath Wood as their burial ground." Would that be too late for inclusion as a site in the guide to sites or would it be useful info to have up there for others drawn to the flourish of gothic script on a map?

Welcome to TMA, fauny fergus. I'm afraid the 9th century is about 800 years too late - of modern antiquarian interest they might be, but sites have to be prehistoric for inclusion on the website. Generally this means pre-Roman: Mesolithic, Neolithic, Bronze or Iron Age. You might find later things (there are a number of thorny categories to argue over) but anything prehistoric is generally safe from the golden sickle of the TMA Eds.

Have a look at the submission guidelines for some more details:
