Yeah - I've heard that as well - nothing mystical, just picking up on disturbances in the earth - fault lines, underground streams, etc...

I saw it in action at the Rollright Stones a few wweeks ago (wasn't that convinced, to be honest, of the methods used - dowsing for burials? Hmmmm...) But... I have had a go myself and was quite convinced of the movements of the rods. Usually the rods crossed over nothing visible - I assume they were these 'ere underground fault lines...

Come on, someone more knowledgeable - speak up! ;o)

I tried dowsing at the Rollright Stones about a year ago. They provide the wire rods by the entrance and I've always been intrigued by it. I believe you're supposed to walk along holding the rods steady and wait for them to move of their own accord. Trouble was, they are constructed to be very free moving and I couldn't help jogging them slightly at every step, despite being completely sober! Felt quite dissapointed as they spun all over the place and I felt I was involuntarily tilting them.
Anyone else had the same experience?
