Hi Ike,

This may be one of those manufactured megaliths.There is a firm somewhere in the area that for the sum of cash,only folk in that area could afford,they will provide you with an authentic standing stone,ruined burial chamber or even a dolmen.

I must go and have a look at this and find out.

I guess this is what Rhiannon mentioned in her post http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/browse.php?site_id=2730 where she says “In Druid Stoke there is a house called 'the Cromlech' with a constructed dolmen in the front garden”. I remember looking on my Bristle map and I was surprised to find no less that 6 roads named Druid something. I thought I’d take a look next time I was back in the area, but the last time I was in the area it was with a broken down car on the way back from Cornwall, and then later trying to nurse the car back to London!

I'm pretty certain this site is authentic - if I remember rightly there's details of it in the Bristol Museum and Art gallery, in the archaeology section alongside Stoney Littleton and Belas Knapp.

and there are some nice Roman Sites nearby (i know i will be branded a heretic for even uttering the word Roman). It would be nice if there was a small (section) just for photos for Roman sites. Perhaps a special overlay on the Map Browser. I know it will argued that this site is only for very ancient sites, but the Romans did have an impact on ancient sites as well. This is just for discussion.
