I will definitely second the comments below – the scenery is great, the food's great, the service is great. Those who want to stick to traditional grub have plenty of choice but if you're a more adventurous diner keep your eye out for the specials board. No complaints from me and definitely none from the kids, although they were paying more attention to the outdoor play area than they were to the menu! |

If you think this looks like a typical country pub from the outside, just wait until you get inside! Standing isolated on the (sometimes) bleak wastes of Sheriffmuir, this is a fantastic restaurant which inside looks more mediterannean than anything else. The menu is excellent, and about as far from pie and chips as you can get.
It was part of the Bouzy Rouge chain (there are other restaurants in Glasgow and Edinburgh) although it changed hands again recently, but the food is apparently still modern with a Scottish twist. Good ales too! |
