Dartmoor Stone Circles and Avenues with author Peter Knight: Wednesday 16th May 2012, 8am - 6pm.
A five-hour walk around the incredible landscape of megalithic Dartmoor, Devon, visiting stone circles, megalithic avenues, menhirs and tracking earth energies. First, the Fernworthy Stone Circle, hidden in woods on the edge of the moor. Then we will walk up onto the moor to see the Longstone and adjacent stone rows. Some of these are astronomically aligned. Then into Chagford for lunch: there are tea rooms and pubs. (Note: Not included in price). After lunch, we shall visit the Scorhill Stone Circle, which nestles in fantastic scenery, and has astronomical alignments, before going down to the river nearby to visit the Tolmen Stone, a massive boulder with a hole right through it, which we shall descend into as a rite of passage.

THE FIFTH MEGALITHOMANIA CONFERENCE MAY 8th - 9th 2010, GLASTONBURY A lot has been happening in the world of megaliths since the sad passing of John Michell and last years conference. From discoveries of megaliths and unusual earthworks in Ukraine and the news that the 'Garden of Eden' has been unearthed in the middle-east, the last conference helped unlock some remarkable secrets of the ancient world. The 2010 event continues in the same vein, investigating what the ancients were up to all over the world. A Few discounted tickets for the 2010 gathering are still available. Tickets are £70 (then £82) for the first 50 sold, so please call 01458 831800 to reserve your seat.
We are planning a concert for Saturday night (8th May) at the conference venue and will announce details of that very soon. Please check http://www.megalithomania.co.uk for updates on that. We also hope to present a tribute to the great Hamish Miller, who sadly passed away recently. Hamish spoke at the 2008 conference about his research in New Zealand and he was a big influence and friend of us organizers. We dedicate the 2010 conference to his memory.
We are pleased to announce that the great Aubrey Burl will be joining us to give us a glimpse into his new research on stone circles. Robert Bauval will be discussing his breakthrough discoveries about the origins of Egypt, and Andrew Collins will be revealing the cave and tunnel systems beneath Giza he recently discovered. Staying on that continent, Michael Tellinger will be opening up a lost megalithic civilization from Great Zimbabwe that is arguably the oldest city-state on the planet; and Antoine Gigal has rediscovered pyramids on Mauritius, as well as in Sicily and Tenerife. Back to Albion, Anthony Thorley will be discussing the subject of his Phd, Landscape Zodiacs in Britain, and Francine Blake will be comparing ancient rock carvings to modern crop circle symbolism. There's a whole lot more than that though, so check out the enclosed flyer for the complete line up and find details of each speakers talk on the website. We will also be hosting another Megalithic art gallery and a full day seminar with Michael Tellinger detailing his amazing discoveries in South Africa, plus three days of tours to sacred sites...

Summer Solstice Event in Brittany 18th - 22nd June 2009 - Stones, Snakes and Sun....
A unique chance to approach the mysterious megaliths of Carnac ! Talks, sunrise and sunset observations, visits on foot, by boat and by helicopter, workshops, exhibitions, films, story telling, music...5 incredible days of wonder and discovery.
The building of the megalithic monuments in Carnac started over 7000 years ago. Thousands of tons of stones were extracted, transported and erected in alignments, circles, cairns and tumulus.
If you want to know more, join us in Plouharnel and listen and talk to people who have been searching for answers for many years ... and who have found some !
This year we are thrilled to welcome back Robin Heath who will fill us in on his latest work on the astronomical heritage of the ancients (and remind us of the basics). He's coming with Paul Broadhurst of "The Sun and the Serpent" fame. So the Heavens and the Earth should be united and the snakes and dragons tamed.
Howard Crowhurst, who has been living in the Carnac area since 1986, will help us discover this amazing site and show how it's related to British monuments. Other speakers include Hugn Newman, Kate Masters, Regor Mougeot, Audrey Fella, Philippe Gaillard, Pierre Le Labousse, Priscilla Abraham and Bruno Mauguin. There will be three exhibitions of paintings and photographs, story telling, films, many visits including a boat trip to the entirely engraved dolmen on the island of Gavrinis and to crown the lot...site visits by helicopter!
For only 35€, you will have the unique opportunity to discover the most incredible megalithic site in the world by air and see how these different alignments (Erdeven, Carnac, Plouharnel) and tumulus (Saint Michel, Kercado, Crucuny) are related!
This event is organised by ACEM (Association pour la Connaissance et l'Etude des Mégalithes), a non-profit making organisation based in Plouharnel.

MEGALITHOMANIA 2009 – DEDICATED TO JOHN MICHELL The annual MEGALITHOMANIA CONFERENCE returns for its fourth convention of the megalithic arts and sciences at The Assembly Rooms, Glastonbury on 23rd & 24th May 2009. This year's line-up includes Graham Hancock, Robert Temple, Christine Rhone, Michael Hodges, Robin Heath and many others. Since it's humble beginnings in 2006, MEGALITHOMANIA has become Europe's foremost assembly of scholars, authors and researchers on all things megalithic. The varied subjects blend academic disciplines with cutting-edge research from a variety of fields, including archaeoastronomy, geomancy, archaeoacoustics, geodesy, earth energies, navigation and geometry.
The pioneer of the earth mysteries renaissance, John Michell, passed away on Friday 24th April at 12.30am, so we are dedicating the conference to his memory. He was the main inspiration for creating the event, and even gave us permission to use the Megalithomania name (from his 1982 book). He has been involved in the first three events since its inception in 2006 and will be greatly missed by us all. The speakers forum on the Sunday afternoon will be about his life and work and how he has inspired generations of Megalithomaniacs with his cutting-edge discoveries, original ideas and visionary understanding of the ancients. There will be contributions from John Martineau, John Neal, Jamie George, Christine Rhone, Robin Heath and several others who were close to John.
A total of thirteen talks and one film screening are planned for the conference with book signings, a megalitho-market place, an extensive art exhibition and Glastonbury town on the doorstep of the venue. Tickets for the conference are £80/£45 day/£7 single talks. Field trips to Stonehenge and Avebury will take place on the Friday and Monday with ROBIN HEATH. There are still places available on these. Call +44 1458 831800 for tickets, email info@megalithomania.co.uk or visit http://www.megalithomania.co.uk for more details.

Megalithomania 2009 News Update The annual MEGALITHOMANIA CONFERENCE returns for its fourth convention of the megalithic arts and sciences at The Assembly Rooms, Glastonbury on 23rd & 24th May 2009.
A late addition to the 2009 line-up is Robin Williamson, a master bard and storyteller, who founded The Incredible String Band. He is also a researcher of ancient myths and legends of the British Isles, and will be performing a Bardic account about the Tuatha de Danaan; notably the two battles of Moytura, the sacred megalithic complex at Sligo in Ireland. An ancient oral tradition that recounts conflicts of the ancestors at the dawn of the world, gleaned from Irish mythology. He will be presenting on Saturday afternoon and also be doing an exclusive Saturday evening concert.
Robin Heath, author of Sun, Moon & Stonehenge will be guiding full-access tours to Stonehenge and Avebury on the Friday and Monday and also presenting his groundbreaking new research on an 'ancient national grid' across Britain at the conference on the Sunday. On a similar note, Tom Brookes will be screening his new film about a prehistoric geodetic survey of Southern England linking earth-mounds, standing stones and other archaeological features into a coherent, scientific system that has been completely ignored by the academic fraternity. He has been studying this subject for nearly fifty years, contacted every University in Britain about his discoveries, published a book on the subject, but his conclusions has been dismissed as 'arcane' and simply 'impossible' for such a developed standard of surveying to have existed 5,000 years ago. Both Robin & Tom have hit 'brick walls' when presenting their findings to the academics and this is an ongoing problem encountered by many researchers; a theme that will be discussed at the event.
On the other side of the Atlantic, in the North Eastern states of America are a remarkable network of megalithic sites that, again, have been placed in the archaeological trash by the historical establishment. Hugh Newman, author of Earth Grids: The Secret Patterns of Gaia's Sacred Sites, spent a month exploring the hundreds of ancient chambers, menhirs, dolmens and stone circles in New England, that are another stunning example of a worldwide megalithic effort to construct such sites. Even the Native Americans do not know who constructed many of these sites and there is abundant evidence that this part of the US was visited by advanced civilisations in prehistory that are remembered in many of the legends of the area. Hugh will be speaking on the Sunday morning.
One must ask who these people really were and why did they go to so much effort to construct such great megalithic temples across the entire planet that would withstand the tests of time? Find out this and much more at this year's MEGALITHOMANIA conference. With a total of thirteen talks, a megalith-forum, tours to Stonehenge and Avebury and an extensive megalithic art exhibition it is your opportunity to officially become a Megalithomaniac!
A total of thirteen talks and one film screening are planned with book signings, a megalitho-market place and Glastonbury town on the doorstep of the venue. Tickets for the conference are £80. Field trips to Stonehenge and Avebury will take place on the Friday and Monday. Field trips are not included in the price. Call +44 1458 831800 for tickets, email info@megalithomania.co.uk or visit http://www.megalithomania.co.uk for more details.

Megalithomania was founded by Hugh Newman, John Martineau and Gareth Mills in the winter of 2005. Inspired by the incredible research of numerous authors, the conference was created to become an open forum to debate the megalithic arts and sciences. The team felt that history books and colleges do not present the evidence that is being discovered today. Revelations in the fields of archaeoastronomy, geomancy, mathematics, ley alignments, sacred geometry and other cutting-edge disciplines are helping rewrite our own history, but are often completely overlooked by the academic world. Many people want to know where we came from and connect to our ancestors so we hope that this annual event can be part of that process.
