| A nice pub, old, small and dark - located in a good area to see the Greywethers and myriad other prehistoric remains, the Warren House Inn has reasonable parking nearby and plenty of outdoor seating with southward views - oh, and the fire has apparently (according to the landlady) been kept going for 160 years this year (2005)! Good local beer and reasonably priced food. |

Dartmoor is my home turf, but Wiltshire makes me calm and still (although the damaging of my beloved Silbury makes me seethe).
I don't believe that we need to know everything about the past in order to connect with it. A sense of wonder, curiosity and imagination are core tools in establishing a firm connection - I respect archaeology and admire archaeologists, but am wary of its overuse - especially when its results are hidden away from the good 'ol GP or used for political ends.
I am prone to deep thought, crap jokes and shooting my mouth off before I've thought things through. I believe in Peace and "Old Fashioned" Socialism.
Peace
