Atlantis Lodges (Holiday Cottage, Orkney)

If only we could post photos under the "facilities" section... You'd be here like a shot!

The Bay of Firth laps gently at the walls of these chalets, giving fantastic views of the bay and Grimbister island... The headlands and other islands virtually cut off the sea, so it was like a mirror when we were there...

Just behind, and visible from the chalets, is the Cuween Chambered Cairn - The Fairy Knowe! Perfect location, and perfect accommodation. Very comfy, and fully equipped.

Very reasonably priced, too - we'll definitely stop here when we next visit Orkney.

Lochend (Holiday Cottage, Orkney)

This is perfect!

Large, comfortable flat (own front door, all rooms on the first floor)

Fully equipped kitchen (washing machine, cooking equipment, tumble dryer, dishwasher, etc); 2 good sized bedrooms - one double, one twin. Very comfortable; Large living room; bath & shower

Roof garden overlooking the Loch of Stenness, with views of the Ring O' Brogar, the Stones of Stenness, Maes Howe, The Watchstone... fantastic!

Really easy to get to. Just along the road from Stromness to Kirkwall, just past the Standing Stones Hotel, by a garage with it's own shop. What more can you want? :oD

The Anchor Inn (Pub, Dorset.)

This is a lovely warm pub after a long walk along the cliffs...

With good real ales and a fantastic menu! You just gotta try the stilton, leek & walnut pie! I don't think I've had better pub food!

You can watch the sunset from the cliff garden as well... what more can you ask for?
