Beware this isn't a very easy place to find.
More details of the wind swept place.
Obviously the farm machinery etc wasn't there when this report was made.
Not much but some details about the 'four poster'.
Site details. Funny why Canmore spell this places name differently to everybody else including the locals.
A pic of the reconstruction of Strichen roundhouse.
Site details and a mention of agriculture. Nice aerial pic.
Then there were 3, Canmore's two plus drew's one.
All details of the stone put rather eloquently than I could.
I found three out of the four hut circles. Winter time visit for the last one.
How the caves were used in Iron Age times.
Sean MacGowan, who stays on Maggie Redhead hill, will help me look for hut circles, possible cairns and hopefully rock art. There are rocks everywhere and Knock Hill is bang in front.
Well, well, well, Canmore make a mistake. Is this possible....................the mound actually overlooks the River Don.
Some place, some history, brilliant.
I took a more circular route and didn't see the alternate path on the way down. Oh, I wished that I did!
This souterrain must also have been some place if the finds are anything to go by.
