Still looking for info to confirm this site but it looks very much like a hillfort to me. Sat on the side of a gently sloping hill facing south. Hut circles stretch from here all the way to chysaucester. Beside the hillfort there was a raised bank in the field curving in a similar radius.

In side the hilfort is a pile of stones marking a shaft according to the OS map. Again I will look for mining evidence in the area but many small mines left little history.
