East Moor possible Menhir / Stone setting - 3.4.2003

Not mentioned in any of the ever expanding collection of ‘guide books’ I now have. From the plateau which contains the possible blocking stone of the end of East Moor Stone Row a possible menhir can clearly be seen on the south west slopes of Fox Tor. It measures 125 (H) x 190 (W) x up to 50cm deep, and has quite a split in it. Judging by the pit surrounding it, it is obviously used by livestock to gather around / rub / get shelter. It isn’t very tall (which is a general way of questioning it being a menhir) but it does not look like a natural setting.
