The Nine Stones of Winterbourne Abbas (Stone Circle) by hrothgar Last time I passed, it looks like the access to this stone circle has been greatly improved by opening up a right of way across the field from the nearby Little Chef. As others have noted, the walk along the road is unpleasant to say the least.

That really is good news! Wonder if they let you use their carpark as well? Love their logo next to the EH one! :D

“Nice! Good old Little Chef...”

Aye, ditto!

A great British institution (and thank gawd they didn’t go for that stoopid slim-line version of the logo they were thinking about. Moss askes is there any connection with Little Chef and the 'Eating your ancestors' thread ;-)

You mean you 'aren't supposed to use their car park?'......

By the way, what do people think about the serious pruning of the trees?

I always parked in the layby by the barn and legged it across the a35. That path must take you past the Broad Stone... juamei Posted by juamei

Isn't that up the other direction? Or do you mean you think the path might continue on? And isn't there at least one more, slightly smaller, stone in the adjoining field?
