Great set of pics, Gladman! We tried to get here a few years back, but failed miserably, in the ridiculous heat of an unbroken blue sky... Quite pleased we took the wrong path as I'd probably have been burned to a frazzle! But your pics have made me want to return. And looking at the map, they look pretty easy to get to! Tho nice and removed from modern civilisation... :)

Cheers G. A bit of a steep start, but then you're alright. No chance of me having been burned to a frazzle, as you can see. Perhaps calling it the 'premier site of Lakeland' is a bit OTT. Then again - all things considered - perhaps not? GLADMAN Posted by GLADMAN

goffik,
To find it, make sure you use your map and compass, as there are a few sketchy tracks around there, most bypassing the circles. They are a bit hard to spot from a distance, as they are not on the highest point on the ridge, and the ridge is a broad one, with long grasses, which don't help. The stones aren't tall, most just about the right height to lean yer arse on.
They're a grand set of sites though, so they are. There are a lot of hidden ancient cairns hidden in those grasses,m made up of hoary old stones. Whilst you're there, make sure you go to Burnmoor Tarn.
I'm glad the hot weather kept you away last time, as it's not the best weather to see it under. A wild day is best, with dark clouds threatening, but not delivering rain is best, and a good strong wind. Choose well G, choose well, as it's a long way for you, my friend.
All the best for when it happens. You won't regret it.
TE.
