| I may be wrong but I think it is quite unusual to find a church on a hillfort. They often seem to be built over ancient burial grounds or stone circles. |

| St. Roche's Chapel once stood in the middle of The Trundle near Chichester and I believe there were also a fair few Roman temples (Canctonbury being one of them) built within hillforts, but yes I think it is unusual. |

| I meant to add that it is a lovely photo - great light. I've nothing against old churches, they're part of our heritage too. |
