This is a barrow cemetery both the Nine Barrows and Ashen Hill are very close to each other, but what is not made clear, is that 7 barrows follow down the ridge, the last of the seven to the right of this photo, then there are two more at an angle in the the centre of the photo, then behind these the eight Ashen Hill barrows! moss Posted by moss

That's certainly a lot of barrows, it sounds very complicated. It's nice to see Moss out and about enjoying them. And then there's the neolithic bits like the circles too. It's quite a location? Rhiannon Posted by Rhiannon

The photo is a couple of years back, but it 'irks' that the two rows are not seen as part of a whole, especially when nine barrows is a misnomer ;).
As for location seems to me that the Mendips has never been properly explored archaeology wise as say Stonehenge and Avebury it also has a prehistoric landscape that needs some putting together, especially the Priddy Circles which is just about half a kilometre away from the barrows...
