Would be interested to know what route you took, Cerrig. Garn Fawr looked pretty substantial to me from Garn Caws and well worth the Mam and I checking it out some time in the future.

Coflein's not too sure, but c'mon, not exactly built by tourists, was it??.if the Eds are OK with it I'll add it as a site so it can be investigated 'officially'....

I parked on the highest point on the B4650 Ebbw Vale to Llangynidr road. (SO 1627 1597) There are several pull in's here. Then it's a matter of a walk West over mostly flat moorland to the Trig point at SO 1470 1593, this can be seen from the parking place. The paths aren't too obvious to begin with, but nearer the trig point it becomes more definite, and from then on it's easily followed. The cairn is visible for most of the way from the trig point.
The Chartist cave is worth a visit, especially if it's raining. There are also over a thousand shake holes on these moors, so watch your step.

I have already submitted Garn Fawr for consideration, if accepted i'll add my "hail storm" photo's. It is a very substantial cairn, it surely can't be in doubt, and well worth a visit, and if you're lucky you may hear the Grouse performing. A bit eerie till you see what's making all the noise.
I can't believe i've been somewhere the Gladman hasn't, there aren't many in that club.

Ah, I get you.... you can't beat local knowledge..seems an excellent walk. The Mam's lived in Bridgend for some 25 years now, so she's reasonably 'local', whereas I'm from Essex.

Keep your eyes peeled for any other sub-2000ft cairns Coflein may have missed........... always on the lookout for walks.
