Wiltshire Heritage Museum Summer Exhibition: White Horses and Hill Figures

On Saturday I visited the Summer Exhibition at the Wiltshire Heritage Museum:

White Horses and Hill Figures

I hesitated to post on it as many of the white horses in the Wiltshire area are not that old. The most recent is the Devizes horse which was cut to mark the millenium in the year 2000.
The exhibition includes figures in Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and Dorset; it was put together by a young post-graduate, Jenna Spellane.

The star of the exhibiton (for me) was the stand about the Uffington White Horse which included some gold and silver coins depicting a horse figure very similar to the Uffington Horse.

There is also a fabulous collection of old postcards on loan from a private collector.

The exhibiton runs until October so some of the displays may change during that time.

It is free and no booking necessary.
