Don't know what the mound is but it is big. Easily seen from the road / pavement.

The announcement that the mound IS prehistoric, confirms my long held belief, however I still wonder how many other mounds attributed as norman motte sites(the majority of which have never been extensively investigated/excavated), are actually reused existing prehistoric mounds. I've seen many "mottes" in my travels in britain, and whilst some are undoubtedly of norman construction......are they all?	Posted by rob_vxvx1954 27th September 2011ce
