This photo came up earlier and pulled me back to it, in some ways it mimics Silbury which is not thought to be a tomb but who knows. I must, must go back and this time go inside. Last year I met a lovely archaeologist named Matilda Webb who was the assistant curator at the Alexander Keiller museum in Avebury. She had spent six years working as an archaeologist on Orkney and had stayed overnight (with others) inside Maes Howe.
Would love to know more about what they found; it has been recorded somewhere ...
