Hey, but that's a smashing dinky specimen.
I made one about that size, and was always a bit 'Nyehhh...' 'cos it looked too small, so it's very reassuring to see something real that's equally scaled.
A lot of the smaller ones have been broken off bigger stones. It's hard to tell with this whether that's the case, or whether the fracture was done before the carving of the basin.
So you made one! How'd you go about doing that then?
Ha! It would have been quicker if I had used this method (I hear that's the authentic way to do it...) :)
I remember telling you about it yonks ago FW, the thing made out of the disguised stone. It looked like sandstone, but was in fact a thin layer of oxidation on a lump of Effinhardstone. Ryaner, imagine Wile E. Coyote hitting a concrete road runner with a hammer, and his arm goes all 'Beyoinoi-oi-oing!', that was me. Scutch hammer and scutch chisel. No attempt at stone age repro after I realised how tough the stone was.
