There was late pre-Roman iron age reoccupation of the hillfort within the entrance area, after a period of abandonment: Dixon, P.W. 1994 Crickley Hill: The Hill-Fort Defences University of Nottingham And a burial of the same date was located on the north slope of the hill: Staelen, Yvette J.
