Another image by baza claims this as a 'filled in' Neolithic flint mine, but I'm not so sure as it's completely isolated from the other hundreds of pits in the south west of the ring and they don't look like this either. If it is a barrow I'm not sure when it dates from as there's been habitation of this site from the Neolithic to Saxon times. (There was even a proposal by Worthing Borough Council in the 1920s to build a housing estate here-shock horror!) A R Cane Posted by A R Cane
