Society of Antiquaries of London CatalogueThis is a rather neat drawing of the urns found during excavation of the barrow in 1842. According to the information on 'Magic', each urn was upended over a cremation burial. The mound is about 1.3m high and would have had a view of the river to the NW. This barrow is right next to a track in the northern half of the wood. There's also a round barrow in the southern part of the wood at TR133536. |
