Highcliff Nab (Ancient Village / Settlement / Misc. Earthwork) by fitzcoraldo An interesting landscape coincidence.
The picture, taken from the Mesolithic site at Highcliff Nab, shows the 'notch where Bilsdale meets Clay bank on the edge of the Cleveland escarpment 11 kms away. This notch is at a bearing of 220 degrees to the Nab which corresponds to sunrise on the winter solstice.
The small pillar to the right of the picture is Captain Cooks monument on Easby Moor.
