Scotsburn Wood West (Chambered Cairn) by greywether This view looking NW shows the features of a typical Orkney-Cromarty passage and chamber.

In the foreground are the portal stones marking the end of the passage where it meets the cairn edge. Next up are the portals separating the passage from the two-compartment chamber then the portals dividing the chamber into two compartments on which a lintel (now fallen) rested. The backstone of the chamber has fallen inwards and can be seen just behind the lintel.
