I got the name of this site from the 1863 map. The site is on the junction of the track to Gaythorne Hall with the Great Asby 'wilderness road'. There is a row of lovely rounded Shap Granite boulders amongst a group of trees beside the farmhouse, which could be the remains of a circle or kerb. The house does not appear on the old map so the stones may even be a clearance of 'The 13 stones', they seem too well aligned for that though. Watch out for the free roaming sheep, they mobbed me. Baaaa 4 feet good!
