The Tump, Lewes

Artificial Mound

The Tump, Lewes (Artificial Mound) by Cursuswalker Cliffe Hill, looking north east from the Tump.
According to Rodney Castelden, in "The Wilmington Giant", one would have seen the sun rise over the long barrow on Cliffe Hill (see arrow) at the Summer Solstice in Neolithic times.
