FMD restrictions
I travelled down here last Friday afternoon (21/9/01) to start checking out the many sites in this group. However as the road climbed into the Lammermuir Hills and crossed the cattle grid there were large FMD signs all over the place. The web site for the local council who deals with this area informs us that the whole region is open, but this is clearly not the case. I got in touch with them only to be told that the signs should have been removed by now! Unfortunately many of the sites in the Whiteadder area are on private farm land and it's up to local farmers when they lift access restrictions.
