Cairngorms Plateau We received this from EagleEye: Cairn Gorm mountain (4th highest in Scotland) and the highly sensitive Cairngorms plateau is under serious threat from the building of a funicular railway and visitors centre. The RSPB and WWF lost a long and expensive legal battle. The scheme has been forced through by a small band of greed-driven intransigent execs, who are playing with public money, against and the wider vision of all environmantal, ecological NGOs and individuals has been ignored. The chairman of the board that dreamt up the crazy scheme is also the chief of the construction company now building the railway. I, EagleEye, am organising a direct action campaign to show that this type of destruction will not be tolerated and am calling on all earth-lovin' dudes to publicise my campaign and to come and join the fight.
