Solstice 2000 Audio Diary

Many thanks to Andy Burnham for the following:

I have two audio recordings ready for web transmission at
http://easyweb.easynet.co.uk/aburnham/pers/sounds.htm

Stonehenge solstice 2000
An anthropologist friend of mine has kindly allowed me to use her 'audio diary' of some of the events at the recent open solstice celebrations at Stonehenge. It contains extracts of the ambience of the place and her commentary. (7 minutes)

ASLaN conference discussion
The panel discussion that ended the first ASLaN conference, held on the 17th June at Bodicote Park, Banbury in Oxfordshire (40 minutes)

Panelists were

Richard Bradley - Professor of Archaeology, Reading University
George Lambrick - CBA Director and Rollrights Trustee
Rob Woodside - National Trust asst archaeologist
Clare Slaney - Save our Sacred Sites
Rev'd Richard Thomas - Diocese of Oxford
Gill Swanton - landowner of part of Avebury and on World Heritage Site Steering Group
Philip Heselton - Earth Mysteries Researcher
Cassandra Latham - Village Witch

The subject matter includes Seahenge (again) and the state Stonehenge has been left in by countless excavations.

To listen to these you will need a RealAudio plugin, which is available for most systems. They also works with recent versions of Microsoft Media players I think.

Cheers,
Andy
