Visited Grimes Graves on the way back home from a family sea side holiday. The site was indeed busy with tourists waiting to decend the ladder in their hard hats. My four year old son was devastated that they would not let him go down and burst into tears. Pretty impressive the mines are though I must say, it is remarkable to think of all those years of prehistoric mining. To visit out of season would be a different experience altogether and one I may attempt one day.
