Lovely light on this one. I'll be honest, I didn't know you got brochs this far south! Is this the most southern one do you know that has any broch-like features? thelonious Posted by thelonious

There's quite a scattering of Southern Brochs across Scotland some of them well South of the Forth-Clyde ithsmus. Torwoodlee, Edin's Hall, Calla, Stairhaven, Doon etc. A few mighty examples across Stirlingshire and the area around Strathearn. There is a kinda recent view that all of Scotlands range of brochs from the far Northern Isles and Sutherland right down to the Central Belters and Solway outliers should be grouped together into an "Atlantic Roundhouse Tradition" and alongside Duns and Wheelhouses.
