Since the stones are so close together couldn't help the feeling this wasn't a stone circle but the kerb of a former, truly massive mound? Maybe that's how the idea of 'circles started out; retaining former elements in later stuff for some continuity? GLADMAN Posted by GLADMAN

3 hour drive up and back for a meeting in Letterkenny, couldn't resist. I've done some exploring in the six counties, but tend to not get as grubby over the border, unless it's in the wild, no-man's land, so to speak. ryaner Posted by ryaner
