Since the stones are so close together couldn't help the feeling this wasn't a stone circle but the kerb of a former, truly massive mound? Maybe that's how the idea of 'circles started out; retaining former elements in later stuff for some continuity?	Posted by GLADMAN 22nd April 2018ce
