D50 Noord sleen

Hunebed

D50 Noord sleen (Hunebed) by LesHamilton This ground-level composite photograph, taken from the west, really emphasises the grandeur of Hunebed D50.

Sure is - this is just about the best there is in the Netherlands. You'll have to go over there some day. This one will absolutely blow your mind. LesHamilton Posted by LesHamilton

Great site, however, it has got me in a terrible pickle. I decided to look at my photos of D50 to compare (and reminisce) and I seem to have wiped out my entire album of my trip around them. I am beside myself, clearly all the times I have reminded the family to back data up has been wasted on myself. Currently digging out any old SD card I can find in a vain hope Posted by costaexpress

That's a real shame. I hope you do find some of your pics somewhere.
I recommend saving duplicate copies of all photos on a terabyte (or even larger) USB drive. In all, I have three backups of all my photos - just in case.

Panic over, ultra late night, found original SD card in storage. Card also included the German sites between Osnabruck and Oldenburg which share architecture with the Hunebedden and sure enough there they were also on the pc in the same file as the German sites. Anyway lesson learnt, better cataloguing and more back up. One last obstacle, it has left me feeling I want go back! Posted by costaexpress

Absolutely delighted for you.
I've a friend who stores his pics on SD cards but never thought of doing it myself. Certainly paid off for you.

And I agree - looking over past photos does make you want to go back. I've been revisiting the Dutch hunebedden annually for several years now, often just as a long weekend.
