Yup, familiar with area, totally recommend the trip to others..the top coast is 'other' and beautiful. Then there are the archaeo sites..sadly, I didn't do much as with youngish daughters and it was more about pleasing and indoctrinating them about N Scotland (result: eldest saw, decided she wanted to be geologist, now Edinburgh Uni : D) Durness only 2hr 40 from Ullapool..and road there and along top sparsely used even in high season. Campsites: mebe I should enter stuff on TMA's 'facilities' section..but, till then, the 'semi wild' one at Oldshoremore is fab and a fiver, Durness's Sango Sands great, if you've stout pegs, Talmine..run down but OK for short stops, ground hard as iron, owner 'had her problems', but adjacent beach is 10/10. Bettyhill Leisure Centrey place for a good fettle. Fuel price in '12 was !!!! : ( ....but as an experience a North Coast hol and explore cant be beat. Go, folks. (I know this website, yup, very good 'n useful, I should've linked it meself a while back, doh..well done RG for the gumption.) spencer Posted by spencer
