That's such an interesting observation of yours, especially that it seems to make a line between the inside and outside. And a highly intrepid adventure, it sounds great.
I'm reading this at the moment
it's a really good combination of science and caving and myth and poetry and prehistoric cave art. Shame I'm too much of a coward to go in them (brrrr)

It was mildly intrepid at best, but it sure felt adventurous.
You cant obsess with ancient things without conceding that quartz had some kind of significance for them, if you come across anything like, worlds oldest known use of quartz give us a dig.
