Ballygraney Portal Tomb

Portal Tomb

Ballygraney Portal Tomb (Portal Tomb) by muller Well this is a first for me, a new site for TMA. A great looking tomb on a private farm, and that will be the problem as permission will be refused. I can go into more detail if you direct message me.

Wow, that's nice. I tried once, about 9 years ago, but gave up. It looks to be in a great state of preservation.

This is from the arch. inventory:
Capstone (3.5m x 2.9m x 1m) rests on two portal stones at E end and on ground to W. Large chamber 2.6m x 1.8m) faces E and is formed by portal stones, three side stones and door stone. Tomb is incorporated into field fence.
Date of last visit: June 23, 1992

this is just over the road from it: http://themodernantiquarian.com/site/10883/ballyellin_and_tomdarragh.html
