Heath Mynd

Platform Cairn

Heath Mynd (Platform Cairn) by thesweetcheat North towards Stapeley Hill and Mitchell's Fold stone circle. This part of the cairn seems to have a self-contained footprint and it's not easy to see how it forms part of a much larger feature. Perhaps the heather hides the answers!

Interesting monument.... probably a simpler explanation but reminded me of Fiscary way up on Scotland's northern coast... connecting stones between two cairns

That looks like a great site. Yes, there's the connecting stones, I think my main struggle was relating what I could see to the SMR description! thesweetcheat Posted by thesweetcheat

Mr G could well be right. Fiscary agreed but it also reminded me of the Banchor cairn. drewbhoy Posted by drewbhoy
