Maen Llia

Standing Stone / Menhir

Maen Llia (Standing Stone / Menhir) by cerrig During a busy week for Maen Llia , it's fence has gone , it's Eastern face has been vandalised , and it's guardian , an ancient creature known as the "Pwca", begs forgiveness for taking a day off and allowing the stone to be desecrated ( apparently he went to the match to cheer on Wales , so he's absolved, unlike England, who are stuffed )

To be fair it was always on the cards that Orville would go off the rails following the sad demise of Keith Harris in the Spring. But going to watch rugby is pretty bizarre behaviour nonetheless.... GLADMAN Posted by GLADMAN

Had a look at this photo yesterday and thought I'd have another look today to see how he was getting on. He doesn't seem to have moved that stone an inch, looks like hard work!! It's a great shot :-) thelonious Posted by thelonious

It's a bit like Atlas isn't it , and skiving off work to go watch the rugby has a long and proud history in Wales , just ask Max Boyce . Posted by cerrig

This is actually " Mad Hare " Steven Howard . I collared him on his way past on a 35 mile bike ride , to raise money for a Cystic Fibrosis charity ran by Cardiff and the Vale ULHB , heading to Llandovery to watch the match between England and Wales . I wish him well with his efforts , and I'd like England to win on Saturday too, just so we can beat them, again in the final. Posted by cerrig

This is brilliant, isn't it? Steven's not from Bridgend, by any chance?.... GLADMAN Posted by GLADMAN

I don't know Steven, so he could be from Bridgend I suppose. I was lucky to catch him out in the daylight at all here as he's normally nocturnal. It was a very strange day. Posted by cerrig
