Stone Circle

Castlerigg (Stone Circle) by thelonious 16/09/2015 - When at Castlerigg I was really taken with the view of all the hills surrounding the circle. It was nice to do it the other way round and be able to see the circle from the surrounding hills later on that week. This photo was taken from the slopes of Helvellyn, though granted a long way away, Castlerigg could still be seen with Skiddaw as a fantastic backdrop. I've put a little white x to mark the spot.

That is a splendid perspective. I remember looking out towards Hellvelyn from Castlerigg & thinking it looked like a painting, sort of unreal. Posted by carol27
