Pen Pumlumon-Fawr (Cairn(s)) by GLADMAN Looking down upon Llyn Llygad-Rheidol.... the source of the Afion Rheidol, but one of a trio of major rivers rising upon Pumlumon [the others are the Hafren (Severn) and the Wye]. For me this is - surely? - the reason for Pumlumon's unprecedented concentration and size of Bronze Age cairn. Incidentally Aran Fawddwy, also bearing a large Bronze Age cairn, crowns the horizon (centre) rising above a duo of large cairns upon Carn Hyddgen
