Nothing to see here as this rich site was destroyed to make way for gravel extraction and landfill.
However the site was excavated by the Oxford Archaeological unit in the late 80s and 90s great finds were made including and bronze age daggers and stone axes.
I asked Tim Allen of the Oxford Archaeological unit for more information. He said: "We have a report now being copy-edited for publication, which will be out before the end of the year [2003]. In sum, this was the excavation of an Iron Age and Roman settlement, plus Neolithic pits and a hengiform ring-ditch, a Beaker barrow and a Saxon sunken-featured building."
