Erm, in keeping, much? That's properly obtrusive. And what's with the rock art spirals? Sadly unimpressed. thesweetcheat Posted by thesweetcheat

Assume that's just inside the fence Cerrig? Haven't stopped off for a while now. If so, bearing in mind the intended audience, I reckon that's a good response to the moronic vandalism here over the past decade or so. Fire the imagination of children. GLADMAN Posted by GLADMAN

To be honest the Massive Standing Stone ought to fire their imagination! If not, I'm not sure "signage" will help :) thesweetcheat Posted by thesweetcheat

Also, if you imagine the wonderful view of the stone from the slopes of Fan Nedd, that's going to get in the eyeline I would think (could be wrong though). thesweetcheat Posted by thesweetcheat

I reckon the imaginations of the next generation of South Walians need a little helping hand when it comes to their ancient heritage. I can only speak from personal experience - and that of The Mam C living there most of her life, of course - but in my opinion awareness of such is conspicuous by its absence. Rugby/pub seems to have a monopoly over leisure time in the valleys... to the detriment and utter disregard of everything else. Wouldn't it be great to fill some children's heads with tales of mystical wandering stones and mountains instead of Barry John? As much as I love Boyce, where is the next Dylan Thomas coming from? Yeah, agree entirely with that (see my recent pictures from The Bryn). Still not convinced by the big sign though. Perhaps a sign in the car park area might have encouraged interest? thesweetcheat Posted by thesweetcheat
