I see you have been pacing my old home ground ;). Did you see the three barrows in the field in front of the fort/enclosure? what made me mad years ago is that the fort was partly excavated by Faulkner I think early in the 20th century and the finds were sold on Ebay more recently! Never quite sure which barrow the 'gold disc' came from, either from one of those three, or the barrow facing Kelston Round Hill. moss Posted by moss

We were! :) This was the final section of Cotswold Way before we stumbled muddy into Bath.

We didn't see the barrows, but the field beyond the fort was a quagmire and we were already carrying half of NE Somerset on our boots.
